The Transition Employment Assistance for Military Spouses (TEAMS) workshops are focused on helping military spouses plan and prepare for their job search. All classes are free and open to all transitioning military spouses as they pursue their own future employment goals.
In order to provide maximum flexibility for all participants, and to address the current COVID environment, all classes will be conducted virtually.
Training Classes for 2021
Each of the workshops are stand-alone modules developed to provide specific information in a condensed manner. You can take all of the workshops or only a few. You are welcome to take them in any order that meets your availability.
There is a limit to the number of registrations for each class. If a course is full, you will be advised at registration to select a different time. Be aware, we plan on offering these workshops monthly and will add additional times if the registration requests support this need. Class schedules and registration links will be released here at the beginning of each month for the following month.

Your Next Move (2:00 hours)
This workshop provides you the opportunity to use DOL online resources to define and explore career opportunities. Labor market information research will be used as the basis for selecting a career path or developing a job search plan.
Career Credentials (2:00 hours)
This workshop defines professional credentials and their importance, illustrates pathways for credentialing, and identifies license and credential portability resources.
Mastering Resume Essentials (4.5 hours)
This workshop is designed to create your most effective resume. You will complete a draft resume with guidance from trained facilitators, learn how to evaluate your resume and understand job application techniques.
Marketing Me (2:00 hours)
A workshop focused on using marketing techniques for your job search. We’ll explore networking opportunities and use multiple resources to develop an action plan for your job hunt.
Five additional TEAMS workshops being piloted in May
TEAMS originally piloted four workshops in October 2020 and the response was overwhelmingly positive to these instructor-led virtual workshops. DOL VETS is happy to announce more TEAMS workshops. TEAMS is piloting five additional workshops in May 2021. We sincerely appreciate all pilot participants for their time during each pilot period to attend and provide feedback. This will allow us to refine workshop delivery and content in the future offerings of these five additional workshops.
Federal Hiring (2:30 hours)
This workshop provides an introduction to the federal hiring process. Participants review federal employment, special hiring authorities for military spouses, and differences between federal and private sector resumes. In addition, participants set up accounts on USAJOBS and review features to assist in their federal job search.

LinkedIn Profiles (2:30 hours)
This workshop walks participants through building their LinkedIn profiles. Participants learn how to create a profile that markets their professional brand, uses keywords to attract recruiters, and utilizes LinkedIn for skill endorsements and recommendations from their networks. *It is encouraged that this workshop be completed prior to attending the LinkedIn Job Search workshop.

Salary Negotiations (2:30 hours)
This workshop explains basic knowledge for salary, compensation, job offers and negotiation skills. Included exercises and resources will help you understand your worth to your next employer.
LinkedIn Job Search (2:30 hours)
*Request completion of the LinkedIn Profiles workshop prior to registering for this workshop. This workshop offers insider knowledge to utilize LinkedIn’s job search features. Participants learn how to set job alerts, connect with new people, join groups, and follow organizations to grow their networks. This workshop also shares a rare sneak peek into the recruiter’s view on LinkedIn providing invaluable insight into LinkedIn job searches.
